The Model 7635 controller has a bright LED display that shows the current value, push button set point selection, adjustable 4-20 mA output, and compact design. When the chlorine ppm value goes below the set point, a pump or valve is activated, and when the measured value reaches the set point, it shuts the pump off. High and Low alarm points are set to alert the user in case the measured values exceed the upper or lower limits of normal operation. Unlike on-line colorimetric monitors, the 7635 meter for free chlorine uses a membrane covered amperometric sensor that does not require the addition of special reagents. It has no moving parts, so there are no pumps and motors to burn out or tubing breaks that require high maintenance.
There are two residual free chlorine sensors to choose from, that are in the range of 0 to 10 ppm and 0 to 200 ppm. A specially designed flow cell allows high flow through while maintaining low velocity through the system for greater sensitivity and accuracy. Typically free chlorine varies with changes in pH and it is highly recommended that a pH control system be used along with the chlorine treatment for effective chlorination.
